The Masters of Arts in Religious Studies is an important course that enhances critical thinking, communication competence and development of life skills through the study of variety Religious beliefs, rituals and practices of other faiths. Thus, through the use of different methodological approaches, the study inculcates a unique understanding of one-self to cultural sensitivities, social context of Religion, raises questions about ones worldviews and value of purpose. Therefore, for this to be effective in the lives of the learners, there is need to train one who will be competent enough to enable learners have a different perception of their worldviews, themselves, interactions with others and the phenomenon under study.
This program aims at promoting the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of the student through its continuous quest for academic excellence, integrity and civic responsibility and national development (Educating Our Future, 1996).
